Gifts for the young traveller

Travelynn Family has compiled a list of gifts for the young traveller. Some to inspire, some for fun and learning, and some that will perhaps save your sanity. From babies through to 5 year olds, we are sure you’ll be able to find something here. All items are available to purchase on Amazon and if you want to purchase by clicking a link on this page, we get a little bit of commission. All prices correct as of 15th October 2017 🙂.

VTech KidiZoom Duo Camera
It’s fascinating seeing what images catch your little one’s eye. Get your budding photographer excited about their travels with their first camera. They can add cool effects, sounds and animations to their images and also film short videos.

Our boys love zooming around airports on their trunki. It nicely fits under the seat in front of them on the plane and gives them responsibility over their own luggage, which we believe should be taught from a young age. Collect stickers from every destination to personalise. Also very handy for a night away at the Grandparents’.

Paw Patrol 10 in 1 Multi-Colour Pen
This isn’t just any pen. It’s 10 pens in 1. All different colours. Meaning you’re not crawling around on all fours searching and picking up individual pens and matching lids accrodingly. And on top of all this… it’s a PAW PATROL PEN!

Our World Jumbo Puzzle
25 chicky pieces fit together to make this world puzzle. Great way to introduce map reading and understand locations of past and future travels.

Holiday Sticker Book
Sticker books are always great entertainment for long journeys and waiting at restaurants. Get your little ones excited about travel with stickers about travelling!

Snorkel Set
Great fun for spotting underwater creatures in the sea on their travels or splashing in the pool. When at home in the lounge it makes for an awesome superhero mask.

Peppa Pig George Passport and Luggage Tag
Personalise their passport with this George cover. Plus, it helps you work out who’s passport belong to who at passport control.

Amazon Fire Kids Tablet
This is an absolute life saver for us on long flights, car journeys, restaurants and crazy early mornings when travelling. Load it up with their favourite shows, films and apps (although you’ll probably find that the 5000+ games, apps, vidoes and books with the 1 year of Fire for Kids Unlimited is more than enough). Also, there’s a 2-year worry-free guarantee: if it breaks, just return it and Amazon will replace it for free. No questions asked.

Magic Water Colouring Book
No mess colouring! Great for those long journeys or sitting in restaurants, and nicely fits in Mum’s (or Dad’s!) handbag. With the magic (water) pen, colour the drawings and see the vibrant colours appear. When the pages dry they fade back to white. Allowing your child to colour them again.

Build It Junior Jet
Perfect for your little flying enthusiast. A building kit from Early Learning Centre to build their own jet plane or propeller plane. Big chunky piezes screw and bolt together. Then take it apart and start all over again.

What every little traveller needs to plan their round the world adventures. This Nova Rico Arca globe features different animals and sea creature around the world. It also illuminates to make the perfect bedside lamp.

Kids Snack and Play Tray
Make playing and eating easier for those long car, train or plane journeys with this tray table. Includes pockes to store pens, snacks and cards. It’s stable and wipeable. Comes in pink and blue.

  3. A great list especially the pen!

Trunki’s are great entertainment for children in the airport. Our children loved them and got some very envious looks from other children, as we raced them through the airport!

They do a very funky junior version for older children.

  4. Nanouk

Amazing gift ideas! I like them all! And our 2yo would too 🙂 he is very into stickering and making pictures, so this are my favorites.
We are traveling with a trailer but if we’re going to travel by plane we’ll definitely give our kids a Trunki!
