Game Haven Lodge review

FEARLESS FAMILY TRAVEL #16

Hello from Tanzania! We’ve been on the road through Southern Africa for 7 weeks now and what an adventure it has been! From spotting lions and elephants in the Kruger, to discovering untouched palm-fringed beaches in Mozambique, to meeting the wonderfully friendly people of Malawi. We’ve still got Zambia and Botswana on the agenda and a couple of months left. Although I never want it to end!

Now THIS is a wonderful introduction to #Malawi. We've been invited to stay at @ghl_malawi, a fantastic family-friendly resort set on the private Chimwenya Game Park. There's a kids' playground with climbing wall, swimming pool and wild animals in the back garden! Pretty cool munching on your brekkie whilst watching zebras grazing only a few metres away. .. .. We've just got back from a superb 2 hour game walk through the reserve (free for all guests). We met zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and much more. So special seeing these creatures on foot up close 🐾👌 .. .. Thank you to @malawitourism for organsing. .. .. .. #visitmalawi #malawitourism #thisisafrica #discoverafrica #africawithkids #iloveafrica #gamewalk #safari #safarikids #wildlifephotography #guardiantravelsnaps #lpkids #lppathfinders #fearlessfamtrav #showthemtheworld #curiouskids #letthemexplore #explorerkids #ourplanetdaily #ourtribetravels #worldschooling #unschooling #familytravel #travelwithkids #toddlertravel #throughtheireyes #travelmadfam

🌼🐣🐇HAPPY EASTER 🐇🐣🌼 .. .. We're on the road again today. We bid farewell to the stunning coastline of Mozambique a couple of days ago and are making our way to the Malawi border. .. .. It's a bit of a slog to the border. Loooooong vast distances with not not much in between except the odd nondescript dusty village. And the roads have seriously deteriorated. Pot holes everywhere and local kids along the way fill them with sand in the hope of getting a few coins from the rare passerby. .. .. That is until we reached the verdant hills bordering Zimbabwe. Here we glide along the smooth tarmac – a new road built with Chinese money. .. .. And still the police seem disinterested in us…😊😊 .. .. .. #vilanculos #vilankulo #inhambane #indianocean #beachkids #mocambique #mozambique #tripofalifetime #overlanding #tblogger #travelmama #travelafrica #exploreafrica #thisisafrica #discoverafrica #fearlessfamtrav #passionpassport #bbctravel #guardiantravelsnaps #lppathfinders #uktravelblogger #ourplanetdaily #ourtribetravels #showthemtheworld #bringthekids #adventureparenting #adventurekids

This month I’m linking up my Malawi itinerary with kids post, which forms the second leg of our African overland adventures (you can read about our first leg including South Africa and Mozambique here).  If you want to follow along with our African adventures, be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram as that’s where I’m posting our regular updates.

Our @landrover gets a fair bit of attention wherever we go. One of the highlights of the trip so far has been driving through villages, witnessing everyday life and meeting locals. People in #Malawi are so happy and friendly! .. .. We haven't really seen any other overlanders on our travels yet and every campsite we've stayed at in Malawi so far, we've had to ourselves! .. .. @wildlife_and_photo_safaris @rscmalawi @malawitourism .. .. #magicalmalawi #visitmalawi #landrover #landroverdefender #onelifeliveit #overlanding #4×4 #offroading #roadtrip #4wd #4wding #thisisafrica #exploreafrica #discoverafrica #africatravel #travelafrica #southernafrica #bbctravel #guardiantravelsnaps #getoutside #adventureparenting #worldschooling #fearlessfamtrav #lpkids #lppathfinders #LandRover70years #landroverclub #defenderlife
