Happy New Year! And welcome back to the first Fearless Family Travel link up of 2019! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the celebrations with your loved ones? 2018 was a fantastic year of travel for us, and to be honest, I’m not really sure 2019 is going to top it. But I’ve made a few New Years travel resolutions, and we have a some exciting destinations booked for 2019. How about you? Check out our family adventure travel ideas for 2019 if you’re looking for inspiration!

We had no idea that 2018 was going to amount to such an epic year of travel. This time last year, we were on a beach in Goa with plans to stay in India another year! .. As you can see from my #bestnine2018 things panned out a little differently. Now, this isn't my official best nine from an app calculating my most liked photos – that one was heavily skewed towards Nepal and there wasn't a Land Rover in sight 😂. Although I appreciate you enjoyed our Nepal adventures 😘. This is my 'favourite nine' that I feel best reflects our year. If you want to check out the highlights from our year, click the link in our bio 🤗 .. Thanks to all of you who follow our little squares of adventure. I love connecting here with like minded parents. Wishing you all a wonderful 2019 full of adventures with your little ones. .. Lots of love, Jenny X .. .. .. #fearlessfamtrav #familytravel #rememberthesedays #parentblogger #travelblogger #familytravelblogger #exploringfamilies #myfamilywanderlust #showthemtheworld #explorerkids #worldschooling #unschooling #capturingchildhood #travelwithkids #bringthekids #adventureparenting #parentswhowander #travelfamily #travelynnfamily #lpkids #lppathfinders #lpfanphoto #2018bestnine #wanderlusting #beautifuldestinations #traveljunkies #outdoorfamilies #ourtribetravels #snaphappybritmums

There have been a couple of changes to the link up since last time. We are so excited to bring on board Nicky from Go Live Young and Cath from Passports and Adventures. Bringing on board these two awesome bloggers means that the Fearless Family Travel link up will now take place fortnightly on a Monday.

And that’s not all…

We’re so excited to announce that we have partnered up with Lonely Planet Kids! Each fortnight, we’ll be giving away one Lonely Planet kids book to the blogger of our favourite post!

What I’ve been up to

The last time I hosted this link up, we were in Iceland! What an INCREDIBLE trip that was. Hey Iceland put together a fantastic self-drive itinerary for us. Check out our video:

And we still managed a couple of European city breaks before the year end. Firstly to Lisbon (hosted by Lisboa Tourism); a city I totally fell in love with. Who knew that there are so many things to do in Lisbon with kids?! It seriously has the best science museum we’ve ever been to, and the boys absolutely loved riding the metro and trams. Plus, it was so warm that we were able to dine al fresco in the evening! Bliss. You can read all about our time in Lisbon as I’m linking up this week with my post – Lisbon with kids: a winter city break.

It really has been a fleeting visit to #Lisbon but that's the beauty of living in the UK – being able to pop to a totally different country for a long weekend. But what's crazy, is that it's cheaper for us to fly to Lisbon for a weekend, rather than get the train to London – still can't get my head around that 🤔 .. Anyways, it's been an awesome few days and can't believe how much we've packed in. Gone are the days of popping back to the hotel for an afternoon nap/downtime; yesterday we were on the go for 12 hours! .. I've got loads more photos to share with you. But for now, here's a pic from one of my favourite viewpoints in #Lisboa. Now to get to the airport for our @easyjet flight back to Manchester. .. Big thank you to @visit_lisboa #ad for organising such an incredible weekend for us 🤗 .. .. .. #visitlisboa #portugal #visitportugal #igerslisboa #super_lisboa #lisbonlovers #lisboalive #cityescape #visiteurope #letsgotolisbon #fearlessfamtrav #familytravel #myfamilywanderlust #beautifuldestinations #bbctravel #guardiantravelsnaps #lpkids #lppathfinders #travelmadfam #familytravelblogger #pblogger #tmom #worldschooling #ourplanetdaily #ourtribetravels #letthemexplore #lovelysquares

And between Christmas and New Year, we managed to squeeze in a trip Nuremberg, Germany (hosted by Nuremberg Tourist Office and Welcome to Holiday Inn Nürnberg). Now I’ll be honest, the only thing I knew about this city were the Nuremberg Trials. But my eyes have been opened to one of the most elegant cities we have ever visited, with so many things to do with kids!

Hello from #Nuremberg 🇩🇪 👋 .. Aren't those days between Christmas and New Year funny? That weird limbo feeling where you never know what day it is? So it's really nice to getaway and explore somewhere new. .. We're here for five nights and being #hosted by @nuernberg_travel Would love to hear your tips if you've ever visited 🤗 .. Lonely Planet Kids competition!

We are so excited to partner with Lonely Planet Kids! Each fortnight we will select ONE winner from all those who have linked up with their family travel post.

Link up your family travel post this week to be in with a chance of winning Build Your Own Dinosaur Museum. This is fun and interactive activity book for all dinosaur lovers, with lots of facts to discover. As chief palaeontologist they will need to assemble dinosaur fossils, and put them in the right room ready for the museum’s big opening! It sounds totally roarsome!

The winner will be announced on 21st January and please note that we can only post out the prize to those living in Europe.

Faves from last time

But onto our regular monthly features. As always, it’s difficult to pick our favourites, but Leona’s favourites from last month were:

Visiting Hawaii on a budget (The Family Voyage)
35 of the Best Day Trips From Munich for Kids (A Bavarian Sojurn)
A Trip To The Smoky Mountains (Jetlag & Mayhem)

And a huge thank you to all of you that have been tagging your instagram photos with #fearlessfamtrav. We are now featuring them weekly on our instastories so we can feature more of you!
