UK Family Travel Bloggers to Follow on Instagram

Instagram… those beautifully edited squares on your phone, that summarise every day life with a filter. I love photography and I love being able to share my photos and stories to Instagram (you can follow me here). But what I also love about Instagram, is that constant inspiration of travel adventures on my feed from other families.

UK Family Travel Bloggers to Follow on Instagram

I wanted to share with you some of my favourite UK family travel bloggers on Instagram. These bloggers provide me with my daily boost of inspiration and curiosity for places we are yet to explore, particularly around Europe. Most of them have kids in school in the UK and are keeping their travelling life flowing successfully around school terms; although they’re not too worried about taking their kids out of school on occasion 😉

Wandermust Family

My partner in crime with the Fearless Family Travel monthly link up, is making me extremely jealous with her current US road trip. Having a focus on luxury family travel, means that her travel experiences have a bit more flair than ours; just to increase the jealously ratings.

Her Instagram grid is full of fantastic family travel inspiration from hiking the Great Wall of China to experiencing luxury in the Middle East with everything in between from their recent Round the World Trip!

Otis and Us

Katy started her blog around the same time as me and I’ve been following her journey ever since. Her Instagram grid is all about life outdoors, camping, glamping, adventures and family travel, and sometimes a beach and a pretty door thrown in for good measure.

M E M O R I E S – I’m still clinging on to every last minute of the holidays – I’ve loved having all three of my babies at home – it’s been a little crazy at times and the adults are slightly frazzled (including the grandparents 😉) but I wouldn’t change a thing!} We enjoyed a fab #coastaladventure last weekend, an opportunity to enjoy the Cornish Coast before the chaos of the school run starts next week (ad). Anyone else holding on to the summer holidays with both hands? . . But it’s the family travels with Otis (their camper) that truly inspire me. I even got to meet Otis earlier this summer at the Just So Festival and he’s very awesome. We quite fancy one ourselves!

Go Live Young

I only got to know this family once they returned from their round the world trip. But Nicky has thankfully been been sharing lots of photos from those adventures including Bhutan, China and Myanmar (which are the places that really piqued my interest) since their return.

I’m so excited right now, doing a happy dance around the kitchen! I’ve been featured by @lonelyplanet in their August round-up of top Instagrams with a 📷 climbing the 4444 steps of Florli, in Norway. The stairway follows an old pipeline and trolley railway used by the Florli hydro-electric power station. The old power station has since been replaced but the stairs remain to be climbed! .. .. Please indulge me with another 📷 from this unique, thigh burning climb! .. .. .. #flørli4444 #stavanger #norway #bestofnorway #norge #visitnorway #hikingadventures #hikingwithkids #getoutside #gooutdoors #goadventuretogether #adventurekids #fearlessfamtrav #lpkids #lppathfinders #beautifulplaces #takeyourkidseverywhere #showthemtheworld #neverstopexploring #exploremore #familytravel #bringthekids #traveljunkies #travelkids #beautifuldestinations #fjordsofnorway #travelmadfam #traveltheworld #travelwithkids

More recently they have been exploring Norway and Nicky has been posting some seriously epic photos, such as this one above taken after climbing the 4444 steps of Florli. This photo was so good that it was recently featured by the Lonely Planet!

the Pigeon Pair and Me

Nell has an eye for the scenic and beautiful. She prefers landscapes to family snaps, but you might just catch the occasional picture of her eight- and six-year old sneaking into her feed.

Urquhart Castle is in a fairytale location, on the banks of Loch Ness. But the beautiful ruins hide a bloody past. On our Rebellion Tour with Loch Ness by Jacobite, we learned how the castle saw battles between Scots and English, Royalists and Jacobites. You’d never have guessed that from the peaceful, beautiful views, though. Our tour gave us a two-hour window to explore the towers, dungeons and grassy banks of the castle before we sailed back to Dochgarroch Lock. The time just flew by. #ad #presstrip . . . . . #urquhartcastle #lochness #MoreThanAMonster #scotland #visitscotland #lovescotland #scotlandisnow #YOYP2018 #travel #familytravel #guardiantravelsnaps #bbctravel #culturetrip #ukexplore #ukftb #ftb100 #wanderlust #travelmore #highlands #scottishhighlands #familytravelblogger #parentbloggersuk #snaphappybritmums #traveltheworld #culturedkids #travelwithkids #travelblogger #historicscotland

I particularly enjoyed Nell’s posts from her recent trip to Loch Ness, Scotland. She may not have found Nessie, but she has really tempted me to return to Scotland.

Wanderlust and Wetwipes

Living life as a British expat in Doha, Emma squeezes all she possibly can out of school holidays. But what I really love about her Instagram channel is her stories. There is no filter on travel life with young kids in tow for Emma and she keeps it hilariously real.

On her colourful grid there is everything from skiing in Europe, jungle and beach adventures across Asia, and the shiny (and not so shiny) life of Qatar.

A Modern Mother

Susanna’s Instagram is full of travel inspiration for families with teens and she provides me with an interesting insight into how things may change with the boys further down the line.

From California to Cornwall and everywhere in between, Susannah shows us how to balance that independence teens require with family time, and shares some very tasty foodie posts along the way.

Tin Box Traveller

Claire fills her grid with moments captured during her travels and family adventures in the UK and Europe, and is another one that embraces camping (hence the blog name).

Me and my girls 😍 Tomorrow they both start back at school – Tot in Year 1 and Baby in full time pre-school. And today I realised I’m going to miss them loads. This summer was the first time I’ve done the full-time mum thing since maternity leave. At times it’s driven me crazy but then I remember all the cuddles and brilliant fun we’ve had. Roll on half term and the odd weekend adventure before then 😀. 💖 💖 💖 💖 #Explorerkids #tinytravels #BackyoSchool #familytime #travellingfamily #wetravelmums #wetravelgirls #curiouslittleexplorers #totsphoto #kidsofinstagram #ukftb #ilovetravel #travelmomentswithkids #ftb100 #instatravel #trips100 #travel #summerholidays #ItalyGram #Salo #LakeGarda #familytraveltribe

There’s also a good helping of fun at home in gorgeous Devon in the South West of England. The cheeky smiles of her two daughters, aged five and three feature a lot, but Claire is also partial to an epic view.

Sorry About The Mess

Based in London and just recently married, Chloe documents family travel, as well as everyday life, with her 3 boys aged 7 and under.

Her forte is her visually engaging travel videos that capture the essence of why we treasure family holidays so much – the special moments and the memory making.

My Travel Monkey

Based in London, Ting is another Mum who demonstrates how you can continue a travelling lifestyle with kids in the picture. Her little ones have seen the Northern Lights in Iceland and she’s even taken a baby on safari in South Africa.

Wow… I can’t quite believe this is our last day here. We’ve managed a good mix of exploration, relaxing and family time. But a week is never enough is it? From watching turtles hatching to snorkelling in the clearest blue waters, I’m sad our time at Periyali Villas is ending. But we have so many happy memories and I totally get why there are so many repeat visitors. We may be leaving tomorrow but I’ll be sharing more photos and writing lots about our time with @simpsontravel over the coming weeks. 🇬🇷 Thanks for following our journey… . . . #greece #greekislands #sea #beach #beachlife #familytravel #familytrip #familyvaca #familyvacation #traveltagged #lovegreece #hosted #coast #passionpassport #kidswhotravel #travelwithkids #travelkids #lazyday #family #familyfuntime #zakynthos

On  Ting’s grid you’ll find a mix of scenery and family shots which are bright and engaging.  If you’re looking for family travel inspiration then there’s plenty here.

Like Love Do

Donna loves a bright coloured photo and has an eye for seeing something different. You will be sure to find snaps from all over the world as well as plenty of London historic sights, bars and restaurants.

She currently cruising around Norway and making me desperate to travel to that corner of the globe.

Being a Jennifer myself, I reckon this is a pretty cool name for a travel blog. The Jennifer behind Jenography is a US-born, London-based journalist who celebrates family travel with flair, from camel-riding to cocktails.

Jennifer has an eye for the quirky and delicious, and she always seems to find something unique in Europe.

We Blog Travel

Amanda, the Tall Fella and their two girls (9 and 16) share images of their family adventures both close to home and further afield, and are a little bit obsessed with Disney! However, it was those special European spots they stumbles across this summer, that particularly caught my eye.

She posts as it is, in the now. Which is really what Instagram is really about, or rather was and perhaps should still be?
